Your educational background and where you are in your program, what you do for work and how that will help you as a therapist.
I went to St. Mary’s University for my undergraduate degree of a Bachelor’s in Psychology. I am a Special Education Teacher and I believe that this will help me as a therapist because I bring patience, empathy, and a deep understanding of diverse learning and behavioral needs into my work as a therapist. My experience supporting students and families has strengthened my ability to build trust, adapt to individual needs, and create a safe, judgment-free space for healing. I draw on my background in behavior intervention, collaboration, and trauma-informed care to help clients feel understood, supported, and empowered as they work toward personal growth.
Your therapeutic focus areas (ages and what areas/concerns interest you).
My therapeutic focus includes working with pre-teens, adolescents, and adults using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to address anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional regulation, self-esteem, and life transitions. I am passionate about helping clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while developing practical coping strategies that support long-term growth and resilience.
Your therapeutic style/modalities that you are trying to learn, practice and grow in.
I am actively learning and growing in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed practices, and person-centered care. I also integrate Solution-Focused strategies, Motivational Interviewing, and mindfulness-based skills to support adolescents and adults in developing healthier thought patterns, emotional regulation, and coping skills."
Your "why" for becoming a therapist.
My why for becoming a therapist is rooted in a desire to create a safe, supportive space where people feel seen, heard, and understood. I am passionate about helping individuals challenge unhelpful patterns, build healthier coping skills, and discover their own strengths. I believe that healing happens through connection, and I want to walk alongside clients as they work toward growth, clarity, and emotional resilience.
Share a little humanizing piece...something that helps clients connect to you such as hobbies, interests etc.
Outside of my work as a therapist, I love doing anything that fuels connection and creativity. Music is my escape, writing books is where I express myself most, and spending time with my family is what keeps me grounded. These parts of my life shape the way I show up.
