Gena Lindholm, Intern

Supervised by Renee Braune, MA, MS, LPC, LIMHP

I am currently in the final year of the Clinical Counseling master’s program at West Texas A&M University, and I hold an undergraduate degree in Art History from Beloit College in Wisconsin. I have a deep appreciation for artistic expression and view the therapeutic process as an opportunity for individuals to openly express themselves in a safe, supportive, and judgment-free space.

My goal is to help clients move forward through a collaborative, humanistic approach centered on growth, self-understanding, and positive change. I see incorporating a psychodynamic perspective to explore the foundations of who we are as helpful in developing a holistic approach to identifying and achieving meaningful goals. I am particularly interested in working with adopted persons, adolescents, young adults, and older adults, as well as individuals seeking an existential exploration of their identity, purpose, and relationship to the world around them.

My clinical interests include motivational interviewing, mindfulness, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques to support self-awareness and personal growth. I believe an integrative approach grounded in genuine presence, compassion, and encouragement can help foster a strong and successful therapeutic relationship.

Outside of counseling, I enjoy cooking, attempting to grow vegetables, hiking and exploring both nature and cities, visiting museums, watching movies, and spending time staring at cats.
