I am currently pursuing my Master of Social Work at Grand Canyon University and completing my field internship as part of my graduate education. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies and am a certified special education teacher. My experience in education has given me the opportunity to work closely with children, adolescents, and families with a wide range of abilities, needs, and life experiences. Through this work, I have learned the importance of patience, empathy, advocacy, and building genuine connections with the people I serve.

I am especially interested in working with children and adolescents, individuals with disabilities, adults, and families. My experience in special education has shaped my passion for helping people recognize their strengths, work through challenges, build independence, and navigate important life transitions. I also understand that supporting an individual often means supporting the family as a whole and helping families feel heard, informed, and connected to the resources they need.

My approach is person-centered and strengths-based, with an awareness of how past experiences and trauma can shape a person's needs and experiences. I believe meaningful change begins with connection, and I strive to create a space where people feel safe, heard, respected, and supported. Rather than focusing only on challenges, I want to help individuals recognize their strengths, build confidence, and develop the skills and resources they need to move toward their goals.

My decision to pursue social work grew naturally from my experiences as an educator and advocate. Working alongside students and families showed me how much of a difference it can make when someone takes the time to listen, understand the whole person, and help connect them with the right support. I am particularly passionate about advocacy, disability services, family support, and helping adolescents and young adults successfully transition into adulthood.

Outside of my professional and academic work, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading and writing, working on creative projects, and finding ways to bring people together. I value family, community, lifelong learning, and creating spaces where people feel welcomed, understood, and supported.
