Clinical Mental Health Counseling Internship Opportunities
At Let's Talk Therapy, we believe an internship should be more than checking boxes, completing assignments, and accumulating hours. It should be an opportunity to develop professional confidence, strengthen clinical skills, explore different areas of mental health, and learn from professionals who are passionate about the work they do.
Through Let's Talk Therapy, PLLC and Let's Talk Therapy Foundation, we offer practicum and internship opportunities for students pursuing degrees in clinical mental health counseling and social work.
Our internship program provides hands-on learning, professional mentorship, exposure to diverse populations, and opportunities to develop skills in both direct client care and community-based mental health services.
Whether your interests are in clinical practice, advocacy, nonprofit development, or community mental health, our goal is to provide an educational experience that prepares you for the realities of working in the mental health field.

Learn From Experienced Trauma Professionals
One of the most valuable aspects of our internship program is the opportunity to learn alongside experienced mental health professionals.
Our team includes clinicians with specialized education and training in areas such as:
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
Somatic and body-based approaches
Perinatal mental health
Attachment and relational trauma
Domestic violence and sexual abuse
ADHD and other mental health concerns
Interns benefit from exposure to different clinical perspectives, professional experiences, and approaches to treatment.
We recognize that there is no single therapeutic approach that works for every client. Learning to think critically, understand different treatment options, and individualize care is an important part of professional development.
Training and Professional Development
We want our interns to leave with more than completed hours. We want them to leave with knowledge, experience, and greater confidence in their professional abilities.
Our internship program emphasizes ongoing learning and professional development.
Depending on availability, student interests, and placement requirements, opportunities may include:
Individual and group supervision
Clinical case consultation
Access to additional professional training opportunities
Exposure to specialized trauma treatment approaches
Learning from clinicians with advanced training and specialized experience
Participation in educational discussions and professional development activities
Opportunities to observe different areas of clinical and nonprofit practice
Mentorship in professional identity development
Learning about ethical and professional responsibilities
Opportunities to explore clinical specialties and career interests
We encourage questions, critical thinking, collaboration, and curiosity. Students are supported in identifying their strengths, recognizing areas for growth, and developing the skills necessary for their future careers.
Diverse Populations and Flexible Learning Environments
Our practice serves individuals with a wide range of backgrounds, life experiences, and mental health needs.
Depending on placement, students may have opportunities to work with or learn about services for:

In-Office and Virtual Opportunities

Students may gain experience with in-person services, telehealth-related clinical processes, virtual collaboration, community outreach, program development, and other professional activities.
Specific placement arrangements are determined individually to ensure appropriate supervision, educational value, and compliance with program requirements.
